Even though we do not always fill them, we do have a total of 14 indoor/outdoor kennels available at Select K9's - Some of which have 7' x 14' interiors that are heated/air conditioned with ceiling fans & TVs. The other kennels have either 8' x 10' or 6' x 12' interiors. Our indoor kennels have huge outdoor 50 ft. long concrete runs attached, with a lean-to style roof!! The concrete flooring makes them escape proof, safe and sterile. All of our kennels have either heated dog houses or heated enclosures. It costs a lot to keep all of our fur babbies comfortable, but it is totally worth it! You would not believe our electrict bills, but we would have it no other way!
We want our dogs to have plenty of room to exercise and stretch! We believe in "investing" into our dog's environment and it shows! We believe having free space to run makes for happy & healhty dogs!! Our entire back yard is fenced in. When we are home... our dogs are running free in our fenced yard, not locked in their kennels. We also rotate 3-4 dogs in the house with us each night.

Even though our entire famiy works extremely hard around our kennel, we still need occasional help. Zac (pictured above) has helped us with various dog projects. Nicole, Darcy, Kyann and Henry also help us out with dog projects, chores and puppy care.

We built this small building inside of our pole shed to be used as a multi-purpose room. It is a great place to meet with our clients and allow them time to play with our puppies, as it is both heated and air-conditioned. We also use this room as our office, puppy bathing room and as a whelping room. We spend countless hours in the pole shed working with our dogs, it is nice to have a place to get cooled-off or warmed-up when working outside with the dogs for many hours. The elevated bathtub/shower works amazingly well and saves our backs when bathing dogs and puppies. The following photos were taken near the end of construction.

8x10 & 6x12 inside kennels can be entered from the outside anytime that they want, with a warm, inviting, heated/insulated doghouse to sleep in. They also love to sleep on the soft rubber mat that is on top of the dog houses, as well as the mat in front of the doghouses. Many times they will choose to sleep on the cool concrete in the summer or in front of the large barn fans. We even have powerful infrared heaters that are directed onto the mats to heat them up for the younger dogs during the cold spells.

These are our outdoor runs "before" our new addition/remodel (photos below). We have a "lean-to" style roof that hangs over the kennels and provides summertime shade, as well as protection from the rain when they choose to lay outside.

They are still able to get exercise, even when they are kenneled and/or we are not available, which is rare, since we don't leave our kennel often. There is almost always someone with the dogs.

We planted many lilacs, crabapple trees and maple trees to provide even more shade. Lilacs & crabapple trees smell great too! (not really visable in the winter).
This was the new concrete that we poured for one half of our kennels (that's a lot of concrete!). We then used a diamond/carbide core drill to make the holes for all of the new chainlink fence posts. We also built a new lean-to roof, so that our furry famlily members can go outside and hang-out when it is raining or if the sun is too hot. It was a tremendous amount of work, but they love it! We will post more photos when it is finished.
