Our family grew by 4 legs 3 years ago with the addition of our Select K9 puppy. We could not be happier with our dog. She has the best temperament and is such a smart girl. We have a 3.5 year old female German Shepherd from dog pair Temo and Hope. She is the sweetest dog who has a high play drive just like her mom! She is super smart and very healthy. Gorgeous too... we get comments everywhere we go about how pretty she is. :)

We had a great experience visiting Select K9. We got to meet the sire and dam and see the puppies. We were there the first time before the puppies first vaccinations so we could only see them from behind glass. Love that they put the puppies heath first!

We have an 8 and 3 year old GS from this professional reliable breeder. We did a lot of research on breeders throughout the Mid-West before contacting Mike and Jennifer. They are very knowledgable, helpful and responsible. Both dogs are incredibly intelligent from top quality genetics. Our 8yo has a working temperament which I was looking for. He has done S&R and nose work, the 3 yo has a mild easy going people loving temperament for therapy work. We were so impressed with our first dog we drove all the way from TX to WI to get our second puppy from Select K-9. We couldn’t be happier with our dogs. We will use Select K-9 again in a few years for our next dog.

We bought our puppy Ronni at the end of January from Select K9. We spent 3 hours there talking and playing with puppies. They are very knowledgeable and caring about their GSD. They sent us home with absolutely everything we needed and more. We would definitely recommend them if you are looking for a GSD puppy. Here is a photo of Ronni when we got her and another one now! My family purchased our first GSD from Select K9’s in July 2015, after conducting TONS of research in breeders. We knew we wanted a GSD, but having young children, didn’t feel a rescue was right for our family. I contacted Mike and scheduled an appointment to make the drive and see their facility. They were so welcoming! We we’re able to tour their property, even the area where the new moms and pups reside. Everything was so clean and the animals seemed so happy and healthy! Our puppy’s sire, Temo, came to greet us carrying his ball, happily trying to lure us into a game of fetch. I was in complete disbelief to see him playing outside with the older puppies...he was just so friendly! I knew right away we had chosen the right breeder. Our pup, Thor, has now been a part of our family for almost 6 years and has lived up to our expectations and then some. We constantly receive compliments on his beauty, but more importantly, he is the most loyal, friendly, silly, happy dog I’ve ever known. I sometimes refer to him as a GSD failure because he temperament is closer to that of a golden retriever. I’m a GSD mom for life and will never buy from another breeder. The second pic is the day my daughter had to have surgery on her broken ankle. Thor refused to leave her side for two days.

We have been working german shepherds for many years. There is a standard that exists that all GSD future owners should be aware of and seek out when potentially adopting a GSD puppy. Select K9 Kennels is one that follows and actively maintains that standard, even going so far as to maintain contact with officials throughout Germany to stay on top of current regulations governing the breed. We have adopted one dog 5 years ago. Recently we decided to adopt another dog from Select K9's...we continue to be happy with the caliber of dog this kennel provides.  We highly recommend this kennel and the owners Mike and Jen. AMAZING people and AWESOME breeders! These wonderful people gave us our German Shepherd, Loki about a week ago and he is so smart! He is so well behaved already too! In a week, he is almost fully potty trained. I highly recommend this breeder! Just a quick happy update for you on our dog Duncan. He has been an acceptional dog for us in so many ways. When we needed him most to help us make it through the grieving process of our prior shepherd Kane, who left us at the age of just 2.5yrs due to complications from myasthenia gravis, he was a energetic and playful puppy with a strong sense of who he was and desire to learn what he needed to. Duncan adapted well to play at the parks and beaches and became an excellent travel partner again due to his calm nature and readiness to explore, he enjoys parks, the cabin and pontoon boat, fall trail hiking/hunting, and loves the snow in the winter. He is great with other dogs, dominant but not overly aggressive about it, really a perfect companion who get compliments everywhere he goes on looks as well as mannerisms.
Last Friday, we grew our pack by adding a 10 week old jack russell terrier (male) and we could not be more impressed with the way Duncan has responded. He is a playful, gentle big brother, and surprises us constantly by not only playing with, but teaching the puppy, sharing toys and even food without growling or being intimidating. Duncan watches the little guy when they are outside and encourages him to play chase around the yard.

Duncan and I will also start a more in depth training program this January with a local trainer who is versed in agility and shitzhund and work towards titling in one of those areas.

This is Duncan, he just turned a yr old. Temo/Maggie litter. He is a tall 28" and 41" nose to tail, and 80lbs at his last vet check. Duncan came to us at a very special time as we had lost our boy Kane to MG/ME, and he has been everything we wanted and needed. An easy dog to train, with a great temperment. Duncan loves visits to the area dog parks and already has some special friends there. He is a great home companion who greets new people well and sounds off when needed. We are very much looking forward to fun summer and training further focusing on agility and obstacle course work at a local trainer. We are truly blessed with a great dog from awesome breed lines. Super excited to let you know that Lara is basically already potty trained. She knows to go to the door when she has to go potty. If she has an accident it is our fault for not getting our winter gear on quick enough to take her outside! And she is already starting to learn basic commands like sit and come! She misses her mommy and siblings very much but she loves her new home! She is going to the vet today for her next set of shots and worming!

Lara has graduated her puppy class!! In about two months she starts her beginner class training. she is doing so excellent! So lucky to have her in our lives!

We recently purchased our beautiful girl Teeka from Mike and jennifer, the owners of select k9. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this breeder. From the moment we inquired about a puppy, they were upfront and very honest with us. The day we picked up Teeka, they spent almost three hours with us. They gave us a full tour of the kennel, introduced us to a lot of the dogs, gave a us a good in site to the lineage of our baby and offered is honest recommendations. Teeka, is a smart, beautiful girl full of drive and love. I would definetly recommend select k9s.

I'll have to get a good pic of Ranger to post. Picked him up on 8/11 and on Tuesday(8/14) at the Vet, he was 14 lbs @ 8 1/2 weeks. I think he has grown an inch or two taller and 2-4 inches longer in the past week. He is smart and already getting well along in potty training. He goes down the stairs to the door and outside to do his thing and then comes back in and up the stairs. He's so much stronger in one week it's unreal. This is a pic of Bigger Louie and Ranger meeting the Sunday morning, Ranger’s first day at home.

We got our puppy from select k9s in August. (Temo/Hermosa puppy). His name is Zeke and he is amazing. At 5 months old he can sit, lay down, stay, leave it, shake and roll over. He is also fully bell trained to go potty. He's very kind, loves children, people, other dogs and just loves to be loved! He is also very cuddly as well! Thank you select k9's for letting us adopt this amazing dog to be a part of our family!!!

We feel very fortunate having found Select K9’s! Right from the start, you can feel the love Mike and Jennifer have for every single dog there. I started communicating with them via email asking questions and inquiring about the breed. Even though they are extremely busy, each of them responded to my emails with a ton of information! They are a knowledgeable, thorough, hard-working family with an incredible passion for the German Shepherd.
Long story short, we came home with our boy, Clancy, just three days ago! We have followed their recommendations and advice, as they know these dogs and the German Shepherd better than anyone I’ve known; things are going very well! The only things that could’ve made our experience better would have been bringing all of Clancy’s litter mates home with us!!! We will most certainly return when the time comes for a new GSD!

I just wanted to give you and your wife an update of Zaida...pup we bought from you out of Xitta's litter.
She is doing great!! She is growing quickly! She is very eager to please and listens to commands very well. She is very laid back. She is already protective of her family and home and is barking when she hears someone at the door, and this is important to us as we live in the country. She loves the kids and is very good and gentle with them! And they adore her as well!
We couldnt be more happy with our new puppy! We love her and she is a great addition to our family!!!

Update on Rocco @ 8 weeks: Rocco is doing fantastic! He rings the bell hanging on the door when he needs to go out for potty! We taught him once, and he started doing it! He knows his name, sits on command, and goes up and down a few steps. He likes the cats, particularly Bella our bengal, who is so happy to have someone as energetic as her. He's very gentle with her. We think Rocco might be superhuman! He's such a good little lad! He follows me everywhere. He started Puppy Kindergarten (the STAR class at GSD Club of Mpls/St.Paul), and likes meeting other GSD's! Thanks so much for such a wonderful little guy!

One year ago, you brought joy to my heart.
We locked eyes amongst your littermates, and I knew we'd never part.
Since I can't have kids, your role was bigger than the sea,
But I knew all along, you were the baby for me.
We played and played, your favorite was bopeep,
Then I sang to you at night until you fell fast asleep.
I loved carrying you around and being your guide,
When you were afraid at the dog park, you'd run behind me to hide.
Then my baby turned into a teenager right before my eyes,
I ran to the vet in denial every time I heard you sigh.
"He's a big boy now," they'd say with a big wide grin,
"Just because he's 90 pounds," I'd plead, but they insisted that was wearing thin.
So into adolescence we deploy,
I realized it when you kept stealing the neighbor boy's toy.
Still yet, you were the nicest boy at the dog park,
Always sticking up for the little ones who'd yet to make their mark.
Then one day I heard a chilling growl,
You were telling an innocent bystander to "Get walking. Don't prowl."
And you pushed the big dogs away from me at the park,
"This is MY mommy," you seemed to be saying with such spark.
Now my back injury has me bed-ridden,
Unless you go out with daddy, running and playing is forbidden.
But, you stay here anyway lying at my side,
What more could an Italian mommy ask for? Your loyaly brings pride.
From baby to protector, it brings tears to me eyes.
I still want to take care of you, but you always know what's wise.

Just wanted to give a hearty "Thank you" to you guys for bringing Isaac into our lives. It looks like his name at our house is going to be "Bacca" for Chewbacca because of his coloring.
He met with Wolf and we were very surprised that it went very well! We were a little nervous about it, but no issues. Wolf followed him around the house for awhile, but all went well.
We're extremely excited and thankful to have this wonderful german shepherd pup. I will make sure to pass the word about your excellent service! We will continue to share pics as he grows up.
